2011 Chart of Accounts
In the SMART System, accessing the Chart of Accounts involves the following procedures:
To access the 2011 Chart of Accounts for Fund, Budget Unit, and Appropriation or Expenditure Authority, please execute query KS_CHART_OF_ACCOUNTS_QRY in the SMART system.
The query can be found by using the following path in SMART: Reporting Tools, Query, Query Viewer. On the Query Manager page, Search By: Query Name, and insert KS_Chart_OF in the ‘begins with’ field. Select to run the query in either HTML or Excel, once the selection is made, place your five character agency number in the ‘Unit’ prompt (i.e. 17300 for the Department of Administration) and 2011 in the ‘Budget Period’ prompt.
Please note the previous query KS_COA_CITATION_FOOTNOTE_QRY, does not work properly for prior years. We are working on a solution.
If you wish to view a particular footnote for your agency, please note the footnote value (i.e. 17303), and search the FY2011 Footnote.pdf file for the respective value. When searching the file, users can execute the find functionality or manually scroll through the listing which is in agency number order.
With the implementation of the SMART System, the Chart of Accounts will be updated when entries to increase/decrease Appropriation/Expenditure Authority are posted to the system, thus allowing agencies to access the information more timely. In the STARS system, the ‘Chart of Accounts’ was only updated when A&R produced a new version on selected dates throughout the fiscal year.
