Job Description:
Fire Protection Station Captain 190th Air Refueling Wing, Forbes Field, Topeka, KS. Directs crew in firefighting, hazardous response and drill activities; assigns vehicle and station maintenance tasks; and prepares reports.
Requires Five (5) years of firefighting experience, including three (3) in airport fire fighting; DOD, IFSAC or PROBOARD certifications in Fire Fighter II, Airport Firefighter, Driver/Operator Pumper, ARFF, Tender, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Fire Officer II, Haz-Mat Operations, Haz-Mat Incident Command, certification as an EMS First Responder (EMT or Paramedic preferred). Successfully complete certification as EMT and Telecommunicator I & II, within 12 months of hire and Kansas Class A or B drivers license within 6 months of hire. Must maintain certifications commensurate with position throughout employment; and meet DOD medical requirements.
Unclassified. FT, 24 hrs on/48 hrs off. Benefits. Starting $36,539 annually.

- Deferred Compensation - Voluntary defined contribution retirement plan which helps employees supplement their KPERS retirement income. Contributions are made on a pretax basis.
- Flexible Spending Accounts - Health and Dependent Care accounts are available. Employees make annual elections and salary is reduced on a pretax basis.
