Psychologist II Position

Would you like to be part of the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex, and specifically the Mental Health Team by serving as a Psychologist II? Join a team that works in a very fast paced environment dealing with a wide variety of people from youth residents, their families and community corrections.
Primary responsibilities include:
- This position serves as a mental health professional at the facility by providing clinical services to youth residents such as, providing individual and group psychotherapy/counseling to residents, providing crisis intervention services to residents, and serving as a treatment team member for youth residents.
- Serves as a member of the Treatment Team and attends Treatment Team meetings on mental health residents. Works with members of Operations, Education, and Program Staff in the development of a mental health treatment plan for the resident. Gives input into residents behavior change plan when a resident has mental health issues. Recommends placement in the Mental Health Unit based on severity of residents mental health needs.
- Consultation services for institutional screening committees to include, but not limited to, Segregation Review Boards. Consultation services to institutional staff concerning the mental status and management of residents.
- Support and/or monitoring of resident's mental condition for institutional psychiatric staff as assigned by the Program Director/Mental Health Supervisor. Attends psychiatry appointments when available and ensures medical record is up to date for the psychiatrist to review. Makes appropriate psychiatric evaluation referrals.

- You must meet the minimum qualifications for the Psychologist II classification (See "Minimum Qualifications" below)
- You will be subject to a background check
- This position requires an approved drug test and background check prior to hire. Must obtain and maintain security clearance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Eligible for registration or licensure to practice psychology in the state of Kansas.
Preferred Skill(s):
- Current licensure to practice psychology in the state of Kansas from the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
- Master¿s Degree in behavioral/social science, preferably Psychology, field from an accredited college or university.
- Previous experience in Psychology specific to working with at risk youth and their families.
