DEFINITION OF WORK

This is on-the-job training in the performance of semi-skilled press work in the State Printing Plant.

Work involves performing tasks necessary to learn the functions of a printing press operator assistant in the operation of various kinds lithographic presses. The work is performed under immediate supervision and reviewed in detail.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

Learns to put on forms, change packing and adjust presses for operation.

Learns to lead feeder and remove printed sheets.

Learns to register plates.

Learns to check the press to see if it is printing satisfactorily.

Learns to take off the press after a run is completed and wash them.

Learns to clean and oil presses.

Abilities

*Ability to learn and willingness to receive instructions.

*Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

*Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.

*Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.

*Necessary at Entry

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent.
