Posting Title: Displays the Posting Title of your vacancy.
Job Opening Status: Blank until you press the ‘Save & Open’ push button and ‘Open’ will display.
Business Unit: Defaults to ‘SOKBU’.
OK to Post: Once you have entered all of the posting information for this job opening and you are ready to have it post to the State Job Vacancy website, click this checkbox on.
Statewide: Click this checkbox on when you have a position that is not located within one county or if the position could be placed within any county of the State.
Buttons:
Save & Open: Press the Save & Open button when
you have entered all of the posting information for this job opening and you
are ready to have it post to the State Job Vacancy website.
Cancel: Press the Cancel button if you have decided not to Create this Job Opening.

Job Opening Type: Defaults to ‘Standard Requisition”.

*Openings to Fill: Defaults to ‘Limited’. Do not change this value.
Target Openings: Defaults to 1. You may change this to actual number of positions being filled by this Job Opening if you are making multiple hires from one job opening.
Available Openings: Defaults to 1. Do not change this value.
Position Number: The Position number of your vacant position.
Job Code: The Job Code assigned to your vacant position.
Company: Defaults to ‘SOK’ State of Kansas. Do not change this value.
Department: Displays the Department ID assigned to your vacant position.
Location: Displays the Location Code assigned to your vacant position.
Status Date: Defaults to today’s date (system date)
Employees Being Replaced
Name: Optional – Enter the name of the employee
being replaced by this Job Opening.
Salary Information:
Salary Admin Plan: Defaults in the Salary Plan
assigned to your vacant position.
From Grade: Defaults in the Salary Grade assigned to your vacant position.
From Step: You do not need to enter anything in this field if you wish to have the rate associated with the beginning step of the pay grade on the State Job Vacancy website. You may enter a higher step if you wish to have a different rate display.
Recruiters:
Name: Optional: Enter the Name of the Recruiter you
would like to assign to the Job Opening

Postings: Displays the Posting title.
Posting Information page

Posting Title: Displays the Posting Title of your Job vacancy.
Visible: Select the Posting Type from the available options. These options indicate the type of vacancy announcement you are posting. Available options include Agency, External and Internal. The value in this field must match the value in the Posting Type field.
Descriptions: Select ‘Responsibilities’.
Description ID: Not used by the State of Kansas
Description: Enter the description of your job vacancy.
It is important that the information is accurate and descriptive of the position
requirements because applicants will use this information to identify vacancies
for which they want to apply. Remember to check for spelling, grammar, and other
errors.
*NOTE: Enter the Recruiter’s name and contact information in this field.
Destination: Select the value of ‘I’.
Posting Type: Select the Posting Type from the available options. These options indicate the type of vacancy announcement you are posting. Available options include Agency, External and Internal. The value in this field must match the value in the Visible field.
Remove Date: Enter the date the posting will close.
Post Date: Enter the date that the posting will be opened.
This field can be future dated to facilitate in managing the recruitment periods
of positions.
Remove Date: Job Openings are removed from the State Job Vacancy website once
the Date Closed has passed. If blank then the Closing Date = ‘None’
and your job opening will remain posted until you turn off the ‘Ok to
Post’.
Posting Duration Days: This field is automatically calculated based on the dates you enter in the Post Date and Remove Date fields.
KANSAS EMPLOYEE PREFERENCE
EmplID and Name: The name and Employee ID of the person you entered/selected.
Kansas Employee Preference Process: Information on the position for which the applicant utilized Preference. This portion of the page will be blank if the Employee has not utilized their preference.
Old Position Info: The position number, job class, department ID and pay grade of the position that the employee held prior to layoff as well as the layoff date. NOTE: If an employee is laid off from more than one position at qualifying institutions, the layoff table will be updated with the information that is most beneficial to the employee.
MASS APPLICANTS
Job Opening #: Displays the Job Opening ID assigned to your Job vacancy
Job Code: Displays the Job Code assigned to your vacancy.
Position Number: Displays the Position number assigned to your vacancy.
Applicant ID: Enter the Applicant ID assigned to the individual applying for your job vacancy.
Employee ID: Enter the Employee ID assigned to the individual applying for your job vacancy.
KEPP – Preference Flag: Click this checkbox on if the applicant is requesting to use their Employee Preference for the position.

EmplID: Enter the applicant’s Employee ID in this field if the applicant is an existing employee, otherwise leave blank.
Applicant Type: Valid values are Employee and External Applicant. If the EmplID field is populated then Applicant Type must equal Employee.
Status Code: Valid values are Active, Hired and Inactive.
Status Date: Defaults to today’s date. Represents the date the Status Code was assigned.
Preferred Contact: Defaults to ‘Not Specified’. Other valid values are Email, Mail and Phone.
Name:
Name Format: This is a required field. Select ‘English’
from the list of valid values.
Name Prefix: Select a prefix from the list valid values.
First Name: Applicant’s First Name
Middle Initial: Applicant’s Middle Initial
Last Name: Applicant’s Last Name
Suffix: Select a suffix from the list of valid values.
Address:
Country: Defaults to ‘United States’.
Address 1, Address 2, Address 3: These fields are used to enter the Street Name, Street Number, apartment number, P.O. Box and/or other address information.
County: Enter the County if available or select ‘All Other’.
Email: Optional: Enter Email Type and Email Address. You must click on the Preferred checkbox if you add an email address.
Phone: Optional: Enter Phone Type and Phone Number. You must click on the Preferred checkbox if you add a phone number.

Personal Information:
Date of Birth: The applicant’s date of birth is not
captured on the registration forms and is not required until the applicant is
hired as this information affects Employee benefit information. Enter Date of
Birth if available.
Gender: Defaults to ‘Unknown’. Change to one of the valid values if available.
Marital Status: Optional – valid values are Common-Law, Divorced, Hd Hsehld, Married, Separated, Single, Unknown and Widowed.
USA:
Regulatory Region: Defaults to ‘USA’.
Ethnic Group: Valid values are AMIND, ASIAN, BLACK, HISPA, NONUS, NSPEC, PACIF and WHITE.
Eligibility:
Effective Date: Defaults to today’s date. Date can
be changed to correspond to a change in the Military Status field.
Military Status: Defaults to ‘Not Indicated’. Valid values are No Military Service, Not Indicated, Other Veteran, Veteran Preference Claimed, Veteran Preference Denied and Veteran Preference Verified.
Eligible to Work in U.S.: Defaults to clicked ‘ON’.
National Identification:
Country: Select ‘USA’
National ID: Applicant’s social security number
or assigned number. If an applicant does not enter a social security number
on the registration form, the agency will need to contact the Division of Personnel
Services (785-296-4278) for the next available assigned number to enter in this
field.
