Exempt employees cannot be on leave without pay due to suspension for a partial work week (it must be in 7 day increments). Typically, exempt employees cannot be on leave without pay (LWP) for a partial day (although a few exceptions do exist). When in question, reference the FLSA Bulletin http://www.da.ks.gov/ps/documents/bulletins/ or consult with the State of Kansas FLSA contact.

Hours worked cannot exceed the FLSA limit for non-exempt employees. Compensatory time and overtime cannot be reported until the FLSA limit is met for non-exempt employees. For most non-exempt employees, this means the CME and OTP earnings codes are entered later in the week, once the employee has reached 40 hours worked.

Additional Regular hours can only be reported when the appropriate conditions are met for non-exempt employees.

PeopleSoft will not allow time entry on days the employee is not active. Non-exempt employees will only be paid for hours entered on days the employee is active. Exempt employees will only be paid for days they are active.
