When I tried to exit, it would not allow me to. Then when I click on continue, I received a message that the course was not "available."

WHERE DO I FIND MY KANSAS EMPLOYEE ID NUMBER?
1) Contact your Agency Human Resource Office

HOW DO I SEARCH FOR A SMART COURSE?
1) Select "Course Catalog".
2) Select "All SMART Courses" if you want to search all courses available or you can limit your search by course type by selecting either "Web Based Training" or "Classroom Instruction" and keying in the word "SMART." Click on "Begin Search" button. Note: Since this system is shared with other agencies, your search results may also contain courses that are not part of the SMART curriculum.
3) Select the course you are interested in by clicking on the "select" button.
4) The course information page will come up with a link to the class schedule.

HOW TO SEARCH FOR A TRAINING SCHEDULE FOR A CLASS
1) Select "Training Schedule".
2) Select "All SMART Classes" if you want to search all classes available or you can limit your search to one module such as "All Asset Management Classes" or one city such as "Classes By Location - Chanute." You can further limit your search by keying in a few letters of a word "i.e. manage" to bring up all classes with "manage" in it. Click on "Begin Search" button. Note: Since this system is shared with other agencies, your search results may also contain courses that are not part of the SMART curriculum. Use the word "SMART" in your search to further limit search results.
3) Select the class you are interested in by clicking on the "Select" button.
4) The course information page will come up with a link to the class schedule.

HOW TO SIGN ON AND TAKE AN ONLINE COURSE
1) Select "Sign On" and enter your Employee ID and Last Name. Click "OK."
2) Select "Your Training Plan" to view the SMART roles assigned by your agency and the required training for each role.
3) Select the first web-based training course you need to complete by click "Register." The Course Detail will display at the bottom of the screen. Click the "Check If Prerequisites Are Met" tab to ensure you have completed the necessary prerequisites for this course. Once the prerequisites are 100% met, click the "Course Content" tab.
4) Click the "Start" link beneath the "Lesson 1..." Title and a new window will open.
8) Go through the lesson. If you are interrupted, you can return and finish later. When you have successfully completed the lesson you will be returned to the Course Content page. The lesson you just finished will show as "completed" as long as you have reviewed each slide in the lesson. The "Start" link for the next lesson should now be active if you have read through all slides from the previous lesson. At the end of all of the lessons, you can start the course assessment. If you pass the course assessment with at least an 80%, the course status will show status as "Finished", which will be recorded into your SMART Student Center transcript as "Finished".

CONTINUING A ONLINE COURSE
Return to the "Course Content" page for the lesson you wish to resume. Click on the "Continue" link. You will resume where you left off. Note: If you have completed the lesson, you can click the "Review" link. This will take you to the final page in that lesson. Use the Home button to return to the "Topics" page for that lesson to begin your review.

YOU ARE ALREADY RUNNING THIS COURSE IN ANOTHER SESSION
If you receive a message that says you are already running the course when trying to sign in to the SMART Student Center the problem is that you have not been released from the system properly so the system thinks you are still signed on to the course. The solution is you need to go back to the course detail page and click on the sign in link and click on the sign off button. The system will take you back to the main menu. Now you can sign in again.

YOU STARTED THE COURSE AND THERE IS A "COURSE IN PROGRESS MESSAGE" BUT NO COURSE 
The problem is you more than likely have a popup blocker activated.  The solution is to go to your popup blocker tool bar and inactivate it. If you are using the Google toolbar with built-in popup blocker, locate the button that shows the number of popups blocked (i.e. 1094 blocked). This can be found just below the address bar of your browser. If you click this popup blocker button, it should change to read "Site popups allowed", which will allow popups only on the SMART Student Center site. You will have to close the browser and restart the course to get back in. If you receive a message that says you are already running the course when trying to sign in to the Student Center the problem is that you have not been released from the system properly so the system thinks you are still signed on to the course. The solution is you need to go back to the course detail page and click on the sign in link and click on the sign off button. The system will take you back to the main menu. Now you can sign in again. Note: Please contact your Agency Technical staff if you do not have access to enable popups in your browser.

"THIS TRANSACTION COULD NOT BE COMPLETED AT THIS TIME" ERROR MESSAGE:
The problem is this error message appears to be caused by the server being too busy at that moment. The solution is to wait a few minutes and try again.

THE WHITE SCREEN WHICH APPEARS AFTER EXITING THE LESSONS DOES NOT CLOSE
The problem is the white screen with "this course is in progress .....' not closing within a couple of minutes after exiting from the module. We believe this is due to the server being busy. The solution is to exit Internet Explorer and then come back in, go to the training, and click on "continue". A message will pop up asking if you want to take up where you left off. Select "Yes" and it will take you back to where you left off depending on the course. If it doesn't take you to where you left off then you can page through to the end of the course to the exit page. Now you should be able to exit which will record your score or completion status then take you back to the Student Center. If this doesn't take care of the problem please contact the SMART Training Team at smarttraining.da.ks.gov.

CANNOT EXIT COURSE
The problem is the user clicks on the exit button to record score/completion and return to the SMART Student Center but nothing happens. The solution is to close out of the SMART Student Center and empty the temp files from Internet Explorer by going to the menu bar and selecting Tools>internet options>temporary Internet files>delete files.Then go back to your training, and click on "continue". A message will pop up asking if you want to take up where you left off. Select "Yes" and it will take you back to where you left off depending on the course. If it doesn't take you to where you left off then you can page through to the end of the course to the exit page. Now you should be able to exit which will record your score or completion status then take you back to the SMART Student Center. Note: Please contact your Agency Technical staff if you do not have access to delete temporary files in your browser.

SORRY, THAT TRANSACTION CANNOT BE PERFORMED RIGHT NOW. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER. IF THIS PROBLEM PERSISTS, CONTACT YOUR ADMINISTRATOR.

WHEN I TRIED TO EXIT, IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO. THEN WHEN I CLICKED ON CONTINUE, I RECEIVED A MESSAGE THAT THE COURSE WAS NOT "AVAILABLE available".
The problem is you have cache build up on your computer so it won't let you exit. The system also thinks you are still signed on to the course when you click on continue. The solution is to go back to the course detail page and click on the sign in link and click on the sign off button to release you from the course. Close out of the Student Center and empty the temp tiles from Internet Explorer by going to the menu bar and selecting Tools>internet options>temporary Internet files>delete files. Then go back to your training, and click on "continue". A message will pop up asking if you want to take up where you left off. Select "Yes" and it will take you back to where you left off depending on the course. If it doesn't take you to where you left off then you can page through to the end of the course to the exit page. Now you should be able to exit which will record your score or completion status then take you back to the SMART Student Center.
