The State of Kansas has been using one FEIN for all general purposes
including payroll, 1099 reporting and agency correspondence with vendors or
other outside parties. Currently the FEIN used for the above purposes is
48-6029925. Effective January 1, 2003, this number is to be used for Payroll
purposes only. The FEIN to be used for all non-payroll purposes is
48-1124839.
All 1099 information returns beginning with those issued for CY2002, will be issued under FEIN 48-1124839. Any agency correspondence or inquiry that requires the use of the State of Kansas FEIN should use 48-1124839.
