Data Standards

Add/Update Competencies for an Applicant

Description: Capture and track competencies/skills for an applicant. A specific job may require that an applicant have a certain proficiency.

The numerical value at the end of the Competency Code indicates the proficiency. Refer to the Data Standard entitled Add/Update Application Data for an Applicant upon completion of the manual entry of an applicant’s Competencies. This provides instructions on how to send the applicant a confirmation letter verifying the changes that were manually entered on these panels.

Competency Evaluation Panel

Data Fields Comments Impact of Error

Evaluation ID:

  • Always use the default value "01"
  • Do not add another evaluation ID value
  • Adding a row will create multiple sets of competencies for an applicant
  • Applicant may not appear on certified list.

Evaluation Type:

Always select "Self" Applicant may not appear on certified list.

Competency:

  • Do not enter duplicate codes -- Change the last digit of an existing competency code to update proficiency
  • Code must end in a numerical value
  • Press F7 to add additional codes
  • Press F8 to delete a code
Incorrect codes or proficiency do not accurately represent applicant’s competencies and skills

Date or Year Acquired

  • Optional use
  • If desired, enter year the applicant acquired skill
 

Proficiency:

Select "0" value
  • Candidate will not appear in Certified Eligible Candidate Pool
  • Possible miscalculation of points

Verified By:
